Simon McKibbin aka Sinhaketu - Focusing Member in eastern

Biography

I met Gene Gendlin, the founder of Focusing in 2008 when I visited the Garrison Institute in Garrison, New York.  I was moved by his quality of utter humility and ordinariness, endearing me to want to embrace this precious approach. Through it I have come to appreciate the extraordinary depth of vision that Gene had.

I am touched to share this precious vision of Focusing, enriched and enhanced with 30 years as a Mindfulness practitioner and Nonviolent Communication  (NVC) trainer. I am currently on a one year placement at Cambridge University involved in the research project teaching Focusing based Mindfulness.

What I'm Doing Now

I offer One to One Focusing Coaching to learn/enhance Focusing

I offer One to One Focusing Resourcing for challenging times

Focusing Training for groups and Communicty development

Focusing and Mindfulness (Focusing based Mindfulness)

Focusing and Non Violent Communication (NVC).

A large part of my work involves Focusing based Mindfulness at Cambridge University where I work as a Mindfulness teacher.

Travel Lighter.  This course comprises of 4 long weekends at beautiful An Tionol, Compassionate Community Centre, Gort, Co Galway, Ireland. Venue easily accessible from UK with cheap flights to Shannon airport & then 1 hour away. BFA Certificated What if…..you already have within you surprising inner resources to life's dilemmas & frustrations? What if ….you could connect to a compassionate wisdom within you whenever in need? What is Focusing? It is a way of ‘coming home’ to yourself – a means of radical acceptance of anything inviting a sense of ease, flow and freedom. It is an exquisitely sensitive way of listening to or sensing what our (inner) world is telling us, often in the form of subtle feelings/sensations, in a way that is safe and gentle. It offers a creative and quietly profound way of being even with what we find most difficult and challenging. In focusing we are often pleasantly surprised by fresh or new spaces emerging, even from ‘impossibly stuck’ places. It is, in my experience a deeply satisfying process allowing my heart and soul space to breathe and be itself, to find its own sense of rightness.
