Wholebody Focusing - Living the Dream, Achieving your Intentions in Life. Facilitated by Alex Maunder, BSc, MSTAT, WBF Co-ordinator in Training. Zoom Online: Wholebody Focusing - Living the Dream, Achieving your Intentions in Life- Alex Maunder, WBF Co-ordinator in Training (CIT), Alexander Technique Teacher and author of the recent Wholebody Focusing book (available from www.lulu.com or the FI bookstore).

I hope that you are all well. I have landed peacefully in Italy at Ananda and am continuing to "Celebrate Everything" in my life here. The food here is very nourishing organic vegetables, grains & salads and the quality of sunlight is exquisite ! I also feel very nourished by the daily meditations here.
I want you all to be able to continue practicing what you have learnt about WBF, so I am proposing an advanced WBF online Zoom course, Living the Dream - Achieving your Intentions in Life. This will be a regular 2 hours slot for the next 3 months up till Christmas. I will set up a Zoom meeting group for experienced WBF students to join.
The times I propose are 8.00 pm - 10.00 pm, CET (Central European time) Thurs evenings, (which is 7.00pm - 9.00pm London time) every week starting Thurs Oct 3rd.
For the first 3 weeks you can join the meetings and we will have a short meditation and then you can practice with a partner that I will pair you up with. You will go off into your break-out-rooms to do your swops, it could be anything from 20 mins to an hour each depending what you decide. So you can then feed back to each other and end the swop.
Once a month, for the 4th session, I will introduce a new advanced WBF topic after the meditation and you can then go into breakout rooms and work on this in pairs. After that we will meet for feedback in the larger group at the end. I will let you know in advance when this one will be.
The cost will be €40 per 4 weeks, which can be payed by Pay Pal or electronic transfer in advance we will do this for 12 weeks which will cost €120.
If you are interested in this idea please get back to me. There could be other people joining from my previous courses as well. With meditations,  clarifying your intentions in life, journaling and self-reflection.
This is an 12 week online Zoom course, Running from Oct 3rd - Dec 219th 2019, each Thurs, 19.00 - 21.00 London time, 20.00 - 22.00 CET, 14.00 - 16.00 New York time and 11.00 am - 13.00 Los Angeles time. Cost is €40/£40. All revenues (100%) will be donated to the WBF Neuroscience Research Project. Visit: www.wholebodyfocusing.org for more info. Payment and registration via Pay Pal, please e-mail me at alex.maunder4@gmail.com

New Year Focusing Retreat

specialist Course

This 5-day retreat brings an opportunity for rest, reflection and renewal at the year’s end after the busyness of Christmas....

More

This 5-day retreat brings an opportunity for rest, reflection and renewal at the year’s end after the busyness of Christmas. It aims to provide a safe, supportive and nourishing environment, with space to form a deeper connection with yourself, with others and with nature. The retreat is open to anyone who has some experience of 1-1 Focusing. There will time each day for: · 1-1 Focusing sessions · Input and discussion on Focusing practice · Silent group walks · Group meditation · Early morning qigong (or personal practice) · Group sharing · Free time for resting, walking, etc. The retreat will be held partly in silence, but there is also time to interact socially with the group. Extra group activities such as Dartmoor walks, dance/movement, massage, poetry sharing, etc, also tend to arise on the retreats. We will also mark the turning of the year with a ritual or celebration. The retreat is structured around a daily schedule which is provided as a framework and support, but there is no obligation or pressure to attend every session and participants are encouraged to attune to and respect their own individual process and needs, which can include spending time alone. The retreat starts with supper on the evening of the first day, and ends after lunch on the last day. We bring and cook our own food – each person generally brings ingredients for one meal (lunch or supper) for the group and gets help to cook it – this supports a sense of group bonding and grounding, as well as keeping the cost of the retreat down. The total cost of food is shared equally by everyone in the group. The venue: Bala Brook Retreat Centre is a wonderful, comfortable, spacious venue, set right next to the Bala Brook in a beautiful, quiet location near South Brent on the edge of Dartmoor (20 minutes drive from Totnes and a 2 hour drive from Bristol). See www.balabrook.org.uk for further information about the centre. Costs & bookings: There will be a maximum of 14 places available on the retreat. Accommodation is in single or double rooms, many are en-suite. The cost of the retreat is £320 (£260 concs), not including food (the food cost usually works out at around £8 per day per person). Contact Gordon for a booking form if you would like to come on a retreat. I will need to receive a completed form (by email or post) plus a deposit of £100 to reserve a place. The balance of the retreat fee is payable 4-6 weeks before the start of the retreat.

Or that if we dismiss or ignore aspects of ourselves, they will go away. But it doesn’t work! This free 60 minute online seminar will share some insights and practices from and embodied practice known as Focusing. At its core lies a truth that every part of can be welcomed and even has treasure - even what we usually label ugly or egotistical. Our topics will include:

  • How to approach parts we don’t like Why everything inside needs acceptance The paradox of how change happens Practical tools to foster self acceptance.

More

For many of us grief is something we turn away from yet so often, when we pay kind attention to the body… it remembers, or it asks us to remember. It holds both the knowing about what was lost and the key to its healing. Our task is to open a space and listen. This five week course, for those who know Focusing, will open a space to explore these landscapes. It will offer us a sacred space to deeply listen to ourselves and each other in this transformative landscape. Some of the themes we will explore:

  • The gatekeepers of grief - what keeps us away
  • The five gates of grief (from Francis Weller)
  • What the body knows about loss and healing
  • Tending grief in community

More

Focusing is a process that can enrich all areas of our lives, as it is about the very way that we attend to our experiencing. It can help us to step out of our habitual ways of relating to ourselves, others, situations and into a way of experiencing that is more nuanced, rich and alive. Focusing is a natural skill that anyone can develop and Focusing-listening partnerships are a brilliant resource for supporting our wellbeing and ongoing self exploration. Focusing could be seen as an antidote to the fast driven ways of the modern world – and perhaps can help us steer a calmer path through it! Learning Focusing can help

  • developing more of a connection with your body
  • improving your relationship with yourself
  • improving your self esteem
  • supporting you with overwhelming emotions such as anxiety
  • connecting with your intuition
The workshop will be highly experiential and will include plenty of opportunity to practice the Focusing process. There will be time to explore the concept of the ‘felt sense’ and the particular way of Focusing listening, as well as how Focusing can be used in day to day life. There is the option to complete a second workshop, then potentially four more weekend workshops which lead to a BFA Certificate in Focusing Skills. Once you have learnt this valuable process you can practice Focusing on your own or in a Focusing-listening partnership. Practising Focusing can be a lifelong skill for self awareness and support. This workshop follows on from my Introduction to Focusing day one. You may choose to attend this second day after having attended one of my day one workshops or if you have attended a one day Focusing Introduction with another teacher. This day two of the Introduction will provide further opportunity to consolidate your learning from day one, gain more practice with Focusing and learn about Clearing a Space. Clearing a Space is a process which can be used as a standalone practice, useful for dealing with overwhelm, or as a step within the Focusing process. We will also explore the Focusing attitude. After attending this second day of the Introduction you would be in a position to seek a Focusing partner through the BFA's Focusing partners pool. Practice of Focusing with a partner is a great way to look after yourself and cultivate a different sort of awareness. Introduction to Focusing – Improving our relationship with ourselves

introductory Course

This course is not just about the grief of losing a loved one. We live with many kinds of grief and all are welcome here. Open to anyone who has knows the basics of Focusing and Listening in paired practice.   Six Tuesday evenings 7-9.15 Costs £120
