More

Focusing is a process that can enrich all areas of our lives, as it is about the very way that we attend to our experiencing. It can help us to step out of our habitual ways of relating to ourselves, others, situations and into a way of experiencing that is more nuanced, rich and alive. Focusing is a natural skill that anyone can develop and Focusing-listening partnerships are a brilliant resource for supporting our wellbeing and ongoing self exploration. Focusing could be seen as an antidote to the fast driven ways of the modern world – and perhaps can help us steer a calmer path through it! Learning Focusing can help

  • developing more of a connection with your body
  • improving your relationship with yourself
  • improving your self esteem
  • supporting you with overwhelming emotions such as anxiety
  • connecting with your intuition
The workshop will be highly experiential and will include plenty of opportunity to practice the Focusing process. There will be time to explore the concept of the ‘felt sense’ and the particular way of Focusing listening, as well as how Focusing can be used in day to day life. There is the option to complete a second workshop, then potentially four more weekend workshops which lead to a BFA Certificate in Focusing Skills. Once you have learnt this valuable process you can practice Focusing on your own or in a Focusing-listening partnership. Practising Focusing can be a lifelong skill for self awareness and support. More

Over the last two years we – Wholebody Focusing trainers Cecelia Clegg and Addie van der Kooy - have presented a variety of webinars on Presence which have gained us invaluable insight into what it takes to access and sustain an experience of ‘embodied Presence’; and what gets in the way of this. Embodied Presence points to the experience of an “underlying field of alive Presence” inside you, which is totally unaffected by whatever goes on inside and around you. Based on these insights we have designed a new experiential webinar, which will take you on a step-by-step journey into a full-bodied experience of Presence or “Me Here”.  With each portal we will look at potential pitfalls, such as the way in which we habitually relate to the present moment, how we relate to our thoughts and how we assess our momentary experiences. With each step of this journey there will be plenty of time to practice what it takes to go deeper into an experience of Presence.  Each practice will be followed by an opportunity to share your experiences within the safety of a small group. This webinar is open to anyone regardless of their level of training and experience in Focusing. Some familiarity with Focusing may be helpful but is not required. Best to book swiftly as there is one place available. Date& Time:     Saturday 15thJune from 2pm till 6pm BST (including a 20 minute break) Venue: Virtual “meeting room” on Zoom platform. If you do not already have Zoom on your computer, you will be given simple instructions for downloading Zoom (free of charge) prior to the session.  Booking: The cost for the webinar is £80. To book your place, email Cecelia Clegg on ceceliaclegg44@gmail.comwho will send you payment instructions.

More

“Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here, And you must treat it as a powerful stranger, Must ask permission to know it and be known.” David Wagoner. WHAT DOES THE DAY HOLD IN STORE? When we spend any quality time in nature we meet “wildness” , something not controlled by our minds and wishes, we enter a world where we are a guest and here we can touch mystery and wisdom if we open to it. When we take our awareness inside also we meet a similar landscape - full of unknown treasures, overgrown paths and wild creatures. In each landscape if we approach with reverence, great things move towards us. Wisdom and wonder awaits. This day workshop/retreat will offer an opportunity to saunter in nature, with fresh and open senses. We will take our extraordinary human senses to bring an open heart and mind to our experience. We will sit together, and alone, in and on the land. We will walk and explore, We will share what we discover. More

Yes, You Can – Learn to Cope With Focusing Vacation Workshop in Greece We all know it: the sensation of feeling bogged down by everyday life: thoughts of inadequacy, endless lists of things to do, quarrels with loved-ones... Now imagine you had a tool to keep all those negative thoughts and feelings at a good distance, so that you are not overwhelmed by them, but are able to deal with life's challenges in the best possible way. What would your life feel like? Focusing is just such a tool. Basically, Focusing teaches you how to have a helpful and healing relationship with yourself and with others. You first of all learn how to put a good distance between yourself and all that is bothering you. This is a prerequisite to deal with your problems in an effective way. It's a bit like reading: you have to keep the newspaper at an appropriate distance in order to make sense of what's written. But Focusing is even more. It's a way to tap into your intuition - into that part of yourself that already knows the way forward, the appropriate next steps, the way to live a fulfilled and authentic life. In this workshop you will learn:

  • the basic steps of Focusing
  • how to keep a distance between your problems and yourself
  • how to listen to your intuition
At the same time you'll be experiencing community living, sharing in everyday tasks like cooking or washing up etc. As the workshop will take place in the mornings only, there'll be ample time to relax at the beach, go for walks or simply lie in the hammock and read a good book. In this workshop we will delve a little further into this territory - also inviting movement and stillness, words and silence, inclusion of the wider environment, and a true sense of authentic connection between focuser and listener. And so the battle continues. It could be some conflict with a family member, or as big as the current ecological crisis. Something in us avoids it. What if you had a way to get beneath the battle and completely change your experience of these areas of our life, what if you could be kind to those parts of you that turn away and make allies of them? What if you could learn to be curious about anything… This free 60 minute seminar will introduce a new way of looking at, exploring and even transforming these stuck areas of our life. The online Forward Living Focusing: Developing the Basic Skills Course, is the second module in this BFA Focusing Skills Certificate Program. This module will be followed by the other 3 and lead to the certification:http://www.focusing.org.uk/bfa-certificate-focusing-skills. In the foundation module, we were introduced to that something inside, the place where we find meaning and we delved into focusing, learning the basic steps that form the shape of a regular focusing session. When we completed the module we had the necessary knowledge to meet a focusing partner and do an effective and meaningful focusing exchange. In this exciting second module, we are going to go through the various stages, expanding and deepening the knowledge and skills we have acquired so far. This Course consists of 6 online classes, that will take place on following Sundays at 6 PM (CET): Meeting 1) Focusing at the edge - 11 March Meeting 2) Absolute Listening - 18 March Meeting 3) Centering - 25 March Meeting 4) Emotions in Focusing - 8 April Meeting 5) Loosening Identifications - 15 April Meeting 6) The Magic Pause - 22 April Each class will last 2 hours, beginning at 6 PM. Classes will be held online via ZOOM. As part of the Course, you will receive the following: - 30 min 1-on-1 entry session with Rob Matthews, your trainer. This session takes place before the beginning of the course and its aim is for you to make a point with your trainer on where you stand after Module 1 and what your goals and expectations for Module 2 are. - 1h 1-on-1 focusing session with Rob. This session will be scheduled for you end of March, so that you can deepen your focusing practice and accelerate your learning in the second half of the course. - Membership of the course private Facebook group - Downloadable (PDF) session handouts - Weekly exercises and practices to strengthen your learning - 20% off for any additional focusing sessions with Rob (standard prices available here: http://robcmatthews.com/index.php/learn-the-art-of-focusing/)- we would like you to benefit from our best experience so that you can learn as fast as possible. The price of this 6-classes module is - Early bird: £145 / 165 EUR (until 31 January 2018) - Regular: £190 / 220 EUR (after the 31 January 2018) To register for the course, please send an email to alina.gwozdziewicz@gmail.com to receive further details regarding payment and organization. If you would like to participate but some of the dates don't suit you or the timing is unfortunate, please contact Alina anyway, we will be opening other groups and/or adjust this one if need be. Please bear in mind that the number of places is limited to 10 and your place is booked for you at the moment of payment.
