This comprehensive course in Focusing and listening is open to beginners and to anyone wishing to refresh or deepen their experience. The course will be largely experiential - an opportunity to explore Focusing at your own pace and to connect with others in a friendly, welcoming setting. Maximum group size: 5 participants. The format of the course is a combination of online seminars and one in-person workshop. Participants can choose to cover the whole course online if preferred. Zoom seminars will be on Mondays at 6-8pm. The first block of four weekly sessions will be held on Jan 16 - Feb 6th. There is no obligation to commit to the whole course in advance, so please feel free to sign up for the first four calls as a starting point. Please contact Kay for further details.

We explore ways of being with ourselves, our experiences and emotions; improving our sense of wellbeing and physical and mental health. These are natural skills that we can rediscover and reconnect with. Non-judgemental, safe and gentle, they support us in finding insights into issues in our lives and reconnecting with the flow of life within us. As we turn to our present moment experience together, we learn ways to help guide us in creativity, decision-making and emotional wisdom. Handouts will be available; no assessment or written work is required, although you may wish to bring pen and paper for note-taking. This day school can be a stand-alone introduction to Focusing, and it also forms the first six hours of the 60-hour Focusing Skills course, recognised by the British Focusing Association. Those who have previously attended an introduction to Focusing are also very welcome. You do not need to have practised Mindfulness or Focusing before joining this course. Learning to sense inwards is at the basis of Focusing. During Level One the emphasis is upon noticing messages that your body gives you and accepting everything that you become aware of. Focusing is very natural and gentle and at the same time you might find that working at this level is powerful and revealing. Throughout the training there will be opportunities to share in the group, and to work with your own process. There will be a mixture of Focusing theory, discussion and practice. Taught by Paula Newman and Elizabeth Smith

  • Each day begins at 10 am and ends at 4 pm
