    Me and my Elephant

Self-in-Presence in the midst of life

    Barbara McGavin

Living from a calm, centred, confident core can be a real challenge. Life throws you a curve ball, knocks you off your perch or you just lose it when your spouse/daughter/colleague burns dinner/crashes the car/criticises you…
How do you regain your Self? How can you recognise when you have drifted from Presence? How can you cultivate it day by day?
This weekend will be an exploration into all of these issues. We will concentrate on strengthening your ability to find, cultivate, maintain and return to a state of Self-in-Presence whatever life throws at you. This is a workshop for people who already are familiar with the Focusing process and want to bring it into their daily lives.
*Elephant (metaphoric) – large, powerful, easily spooked parts of us that can charge off trumpeting and trampling the undergrowth and small creatures or can sit down in the middle of the road and refuse to be moved or can move mountains when given loving leadership.

    Practicalities: Cost:£160 (£30 non-refundable deposit)
Payment plans available to spread cost. Please contact Karen to find out about this option if you wish. Some free accommodation at venue is available (sleeping bags will be helpful). First come, first served. Food: refreshments and simple lunch will be provided: donations towards cost accepted but not obligatory. Sat evening supper: large kitchen available, takeaways close by.
