Finding the Help Within (BFA Level 1)

2nd June 2026 - 30th June 2026 Zoom

Introductory Workshop/Event

Life is complex. Work is challenging. Focusing helps you make sense of it.

  (An introductory 5 week online small group course | Tuesdays 4-6:30pm | £150 )

You can think something through carefully, talk it over, reflect on it from every angle, and still not arrive at clear sense of what is going on.

And then something shifts. A decision settles. A direction begins to form. You notice what you actually sense in the situation, not only what you think about it.

A different way of making sense

Focusing is a practical way of working with experience so that meaning and clarity can form as you pay attention.

It offers a way of making sense of experience that doesn’t rely only on analysis or reflection.

For many people, it becomes a reliable practice for working with complexity, uncertainty, and decision-making as they arise in daily life.

Rather than analysing from the outside, you learn to pause and attend to the subtle, bodily “felt sense” of a situation, decision, or life circumstance, and allow fresh clarity and meaning to emerge from there.

This beginner-friendly course offers a grounded introduction to Experiential Focusing as both:

  • a personal practice for self-understanding, clarity, and decision-making
  • and a way of listening to others that helps them hear themselves more clearly, without advice or fixing

Many people come to Focusing because they are at a crossroads, navigating change, or wanting a deeper way of relating to themselves. Others come because they sense there is a different kind of knowing available beyond analysis and overthinking.

Over five weeks, you’ll learn the core elements of the Focusing process through guided practice, demonstration, reflection, and supported partnership work in a small group setting.

In this course you’ll learn:

  • the foundations of Experiential Focusing
  • how to recognise and stay with a “felt sense”
  • how clarity forms through attention, rather than force or analysis
  • how to companion another person in a Focusing-oriented way
  • how to build trust in your own sensing and inner process

This course may particularly suit:

  • thoughtful people who tend to live “in their heads”
  • coaches, therapists, and helping professionals
  • people navigating transition, complexity, or important decisions
  • anyone looking for a more embodied and reflective way of relating to themselves

No prior experience of Focusing is needed.

Finding the Help Within
