Do your clients ever feel stuck, repeating the same stories without finding relief? Join us for an Introduction to Focusing, based on the pioneering work of Eugene Gendlin. Learn how to help your clients access their ‘felt sense’—that deep, bodily ‘knowing’ that leads to genuine felt shifts and lasting change. This experiential course provides practical tools you can use in your very next session.
This six week course will look at:
- The Felt Sense: Define it as a vague, holistic bodily awareness of a situation that is “hard to get into words exactly” at first.
- The Six Steps: Briefly mention Gendlin’s process—Clearing a Space, Felt Sense, Handle, Resonating, Asking, and Receiving.
- Felt Shift: Emphasize the physical release or “opening” that occurs when the right words or images “fit” the bodily experience.
