Writing for the Joy of It:

Inviting and integrating the Felt Sense into your writing process

(NoteAs a Focusing Trainee studying under Amona Buechler, I am offering this course as part of my certification project. Because this is a trainee-led initiative, the class is offered at a discounted rate, and participants will be asked to complete a short, five-question feedback form at the end of the term.)

Who This Workshop Is For
Writers and Focusers ready to bring more life to the page. Whether you’re a seasoned writer exploring new approaches or a Focuser curious about expressive writing, this course is a space to begin—or begin again.

Anyone can be a writer through the simple act of writing. But sometimes self-consciousness interferes with authenticity. Using Focusing as an on-ramp to writing, this course will lead you to ease and joy as you befriend your creative process (including your resistance) and marshall the power of trust in your Felt Sense.

Through this six-week online workshop with other Focusing writers, you will integrate the Focusing process with deeply individual writing that emerges alive and embodied.

More than a traditional writing class, this experiential offering transforms the often solitary act of writing into a vibrant, communal journey.

Through writing prompts and meditations, Focusing partnerships, and independent writing sessions, participants will explore how inviting in the Felt Sense can encourage the true heart of their work—and open fresh connections to self, story, and imagination.

Each class includes partner Focusing, independent writing time from prompts, and group sharing done with a non-judgmental Focusing ear.

(Some prior experience with Focusing is recommended.)

What You’ll Gain
·  Creative flow and clarity: You will use the Focusing process to access authentic expression and bring depth to your writing.

·  Community and connection: You will experience writing as a shared act of presence and resonance.

·  Versatile practice: You will be encouraged to work on new pieces of writing or deepen existing ones using tailored prompts—readings, memories, sensations, images, or poetry lines.

·  A sense of joy and discovery beyond writing: You will learn or deepen to trust your body’s knowing as part of your creative and living process.
