Paula Newman - Focusing Member in london
Several years ago a friend introduced me to Focusing. At the time I had no idea that it would become so important to me. I find Focusing enriching and very much in tune with my Person-Centred counselling approach. It helps me to reach deeper understandings and to listen to myself and others with empathy and acceptance.
I went on a Focusing retreat, Treasure Maps to the Soul with Barbara McGavin and Ann Weiser Cornell and then trained as a Certified Focusing Professional Trainer with Ann.
My project, ‘Bringing Focusing to a Counselling Supervision Group’ showed me that Focusing can increase counsellors' self-awareness and enhance their explorations in supervision. As a result I have developed my practice to include Focusing within supervision when requested.
