Introduction

Following my own challenging journey with health, I offer supported focusing sessions and workshops for navigating ongoing physical symptoms like pain, tension and fatigue, and the narratives that come up around living with and showing up in the world with these challenges in daily life.

What services do I offer?

I bring focusing to people who experience long-term physical symptoms; for example, headaches, migraines, chronic fatigue, joint pain, back pain, brain fog, feeling wired, perimenopause, recent or old injuries, and anxiety and/or depression. We can explore how to navigate the energies that come along with these difficulties, with the idea of building a more constructive and spacious relationship with everything that they carry.

This offering also includes holding space for the many narratives that come up around living with symptoms, which can often exacerbate their intensity, especially if there is a tendency to deny or resist their energies. This feels especially significant in a world that struggles to acknowledge vulnerability, normalises highly functional and energised behaviours, and deems invalid or inauthentic symptoms that cannot be seen, measured or evidenced in any objective way.

My background in Focusing

I've had a regular focusing practice since 2019, when I did my introductory course, eventually followed by the Focusing Skills Course in 2021. Having noted the benefits it brought to working with symptoms, I embarked on the Practitioner Training, which was completed early in 2024. During this time, focusing partnerships and the resonance that it brings have been hugely beneficial to navigating symptoms and working towards recovery, both in my own process and in supporting others. So far, I have drawn on Wholebody Focusing, Inner Relationship Focusing and Bio-spiritual Focusing in my practice and aim to merge it with Pain Reprocessing Therapy to support people in recovery from chronic physical symptoms.
