Introduction

I first started Focusing in 2002. I soon realised I'd found something special. Focusing was life changing for me and helped me to deal with many issues that had previously been blocking me. I trained as a Focusing practitioner and then a Focusing teacher as I want other to benefit as much as I have.

What services do I offer?

I do one-to-one Focusing sessions and teach Focusing skills courses often with an emphasis on supporting acupuncturists and other healthcare workers

My background in Focusing

As well as teaching and practising Focusing, I am an acupuncturist and I co-founded and am president of the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, in Reading, Berkshire, where I continue to teach and treat patients. I learned Focusing in 2002 and completed an MSc in Mindfulness at Coventry University in 2018. As well as companioning and teaching acupuncture, I use Focusing when appropriate alongside my acupuncture treatments.

Testimonials

‘I can honestly say that Focusing is one of the most important things I’ve learnt on a personal level as well as an acupuncturist. It is such a simple and non-threatening way to get to the heart of the matter - our body’s wisdom and ultimate self-knowledge. It has helped me accept and heal deep-seated personal issues; be a better parent and a better acupuncturist. Focusing has led me to re-engage with my clients on a different level, which in a way, has given them back more control over their own healing. Highly recommended for anyone interested in going deeper’.

Focusing for me is a wonderful feeling of exploring the parts within myself which hold various landscapes and images. It is empowering to know that they exist and that the answers hidden in them are the way to address whatever emerges and whatever needs my attention. Being taught by Angie, this experience is safe, enjoyable and profound. Aleksandra Rubik 11.2 graduate.

I have found the focusing course hugely beneficial. Right at the beginning of the course I started to feel things shift and have become far more aware of my inner feelings and, most importantly, started to trust that those physical sensations are there for a reason. That reason is to be with those sensations in a gentle, non-judgemental way. Focusing allows you to do that. The course is fantastic and I have really benefitted from it and will continue to do so. Going into our charity venture has made me realise that I will need this a lot over the months to come so I am so glad to have done it at the right time.
