My background in Focusing
I first came across Focusing in 1990, when I needed support at a time of crisis in my life. I joined a peer practice group, and we met fortnightly. I stayed in that group for 18 years. It gave me so much personal support for whatever I was going through. I love that Focusing provides an opportunity for an equal and democratic sharing, empowering each person to get what they need in each session.
I have facilitated personal development in others and myself since 1978, and I trained in Focusing in 2000. My spiritual life is most important to me, and I find that Focusing supports my spiritual practice. I am now sharing these insights with others, and I offered a webinar with The International Focusing Institute on Focusing and Practical Spirituality, where I highlighted how you can bring spiritual qualities to enhance your Focusing practice.
I believe that Focusing is a truly wonderful ability for life. It enables you to gain an invaluable resource and support for your work and your life. I work with people who are working with others, such as practitioners and health professionals, to deepen their work; and people who want Focusing for their personal healing journey.
For the last three years, I have been to India by invitation of the Just Being Centre, teaching Focusing, and also Thinking at the Edge (TAE) on their Presence-oriented therapy training courses. I am an active member of BFA, and also the European Focusing Association (EFA), and I initiated a special interest group for Focusing teachers in Europe.

Testimonials
Fiona has decades of experience, and she is kind, with an exceptional sense of Presence that I found helped deepen my own. I’ve found her incredibly valuable as a one-to-one practitioner. I can definitely recommend Fiona both as teacher and practitioner.
F.OM.
Fiona is a good teacher of Focusing. She provides a safe place both to practice new skills and also to unpack difficult personal material. The combination of doing the course, Skype sessions with a companion and individual practice has introduced a new, life-enhancing thread to my life.
Mark
I have taken part in a number of Focusing workshops with Fiona Parr, who has a very safe pair of hands to guide each participant through their own unique process in a relaxed yet engaged exploration. Thanks especially to you, Fiona, for your warmth, wisdom and gentle holding.
