I have practiced Focusing for over 18years and since qualified as a psychotherapeutic counsellor with Re-vision
What services do I offer?
Counselling and psychotherapy deeply influenced by Focusing and parts work including whole body process work.
I’m beginning to practice Wild therapy, including nature more fully and working outdoors.
I love to work creatively with the whole being and body, mine and the client's, trusting our
intuitive knowing and unfolding.
I have begun to run therapeutic retreats with Diana Barnard working with grief and other deep emotions, using nature, bodywork, creativity, focusing, processing and ritual.
My background in Focusing
I started inadvertently on a silent retreat, discovering my inner critic was not so scary but a struggling young part of me who was exhausted and relieved something/someone else was prepared to take the lead. I have continued to practice, on courses, retreats and with partners ever since. I completed initial weekends training with Fiona Parr, Practitioner with Peter Gill, Children Focusing with Rene, Treasure Maps with Anne and Barbara and Whole body Focusing with Kay Hoffman. It has changed my life and my relationship to myself and so enabled me to help others very effectively within therapy work. Drawing on Diamond Approach inner work I did with Catherine McGee for many years and blending it with what I learnt through Kay's and Rene's work in particular, I now like to practice and work physically and relationally, preferable outdoors! Helen Bower, Pernille Finnegan and I have also explored/created a form of Relational Focusing which is probably the most challenging practice I have yet found, I do it when and if I can.
