Introduction

I came across Focusing on a retreat in 2003, and since then I have not looked back. It has made a huge difference to my life. For me it is much more than a therapeutic tool: it connects to a whole approach to living that brings wisdom and compassion to all that life bring us.

What services do I offer?

Introductory and advanced Focusing Workshops.

Further Professional training in Focusing and mentoring as a second mentor

I am also trained in a related practice called Somatic Experiencing (SE), a short term, body based approach to healing and easing the effects of trauma on our lives. This is something that informs my approach 1-1 and in groups

Nature connection and Focusing workshops

I am also under supervision from Ann Weiser Cornell and Barbara McGavin to teach their Untangling® Method.

My background in Focusing

I became a Focusing teacher in 2005 and am fully qualified with the British Focusing Association (BFA) and the Focusing Institute in New York to teach Focusing to individuals and groups. I have trained with Ann Weiser Cornell in "Inner Relationship Focusing" in the USA and Peter Afford in the UK. I am also a BFA mentor and Focusing Institute Coordinator offering practitioner and teacher training. Previous to this training, I spent 12 years practising and teaching awareness and meditation skills to groups and individuals in a Buddhist context.

I am also qualified in a related practice called Somatic Experiencing (SE), a short-term, body based approach to healing and easing the effects of trauma on our lives.

More recently I have trained in nature connection with Wildwise, and am now learning to be a Forest Guide.

Testimonials

I loved attending Peter's course. It was like a coming home, a return to myself, a chance to connect to such deep wisdom. Peter is a steady and gentle guide in the practice of Focusing which I have found to be a truly life-changing approach. It has been the practice where I have felt the most compassion for myself and been able to welcome all that is here. What a relief and gift that is.

I've attended two of Peter's courses and read his wonderful book. All are perfectly pitched and paced. If you want a thoughtful, safe and soulful approach to focusing and life, Peter's your man! 2025

Peter provides a safe, reflective, inclusive, genuine and curious space to enjoy Focusing.
