Introduction

Do you find relationships confusing and hard? Perhaps you’re struggling with destructive, abusive or addictive relationship patterns. I understand how difficult this can be, which is why I help survivors of relational trauma find peace within and peace with others.

What services do I offer?

The gentle yet powerful method of Focusing is perfect for addressing relational trauma so it forms the backbone of the Somatic Trauma Therapy that I offer. My method also incorporates elements of Hakomi, Havening, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, HeartMath and more.

Welcome to a way of working that is slow, because the fastest way is slow; inward, because the only way forward is inward; and gentle, because the most powerful way is gentle.

This work can be transformational - helping you to find an inner sense of safety, let go of old pain and love yourself back into wholeness.

Together, we can address the many ways relational trauma can affect your current life - perhaps through complex PTSD, dissociation, addiction to substances, behaviours, or people, codependence, complex chronic health conditions and the exacerbation of neurodivergent traits.

Because relational trauma can span lifetimes and generations, this work also dives deep into your history to find the roots of your suffering - exploring shock traumas, early life experiences, traumatic grief, and even ancestral and past life burdens.

If you want a taste of the peace that is your birthright, please do get in contact. I offer a FREE 30 minute discovery call. Somatic Trauma Sessions are £60 for 60 minutes and pure Focusing sessions are £50 for 50 minutes. I work online with clients from all over the world, or face to face in Bournemouth, UK.

My background in Focusing

I've been weaving elements of Focusing into my work for several years and the unexpected discoveries never fail to amaze me. My Focusing journey began in early 2022 when I studied Inner Relationship Focusing, fused with Somatic Experiencing, with Maureen Gallagher. In 2023-24 I undertook my Focusing Skills Certificate with Marta Fabregat, who inspired me beyond measure with her profound level of faith in the Focusing process and her beautiful blending of Nonviolent Communication. And in 2024-25 I completed my professional level training with Fiona Parr - a robust and transformative experience.

Testimonials

I just feel full of joy, like it’s bursting out of me - I didn’t expect that! I appreciated how gentle it was and how clear I feel on the inside.

That session was beautiful, you create a really lovely space where I feel really held and therefore able to just unfold, open and sit with whatever comes up. I never come in with an agenda so it feels like opening a gift box to see what bubbles up to the surface and today was very serene and peaceful.

Working through very challenging times this year and I would have been completely at sea without Meriel, who immediately recognised and thoroughly understood the problems. Her knowledge, experience and insights have been invaluable in finding a way through the maze of practical difficulties whilst at the same time helping me to manage often overwhelming emotions. In spite of the complex issues, which have sometimes seemed insurmountable, the process has also been uplifting, inspiring and liberating. It feels as if I have been guided by a Guardian Angel! I am truly indebted and so very grateful for every minute of our sessions - thank you Meriel for being there...

You just get it. It feels like a breath of fresh air after so many therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists who didn't understand trauma and love addiction. The way you explained it makes sense, I don't feel like I'm failing any more.

It's completely gone! We're not having arguments about the children any more. It's transformational, completely different. Nothing's changed in the behaviour of anyone around me but my reactions just aren't happening any more. It has changed how I see those people, the triggers that were there, no longer are.

Meriel's personal care was tangible. Her attitude and joy went a long way so that I could relax and really open up to the get the most out of the process. What we worked on had been a life long challenge and burden. To be free from it with a completely new and empowering perspective was like gearing up to clean up a nasty mess only to discover a chest full of treasure just beneath the clutter. I can now move forward professionally without the fear that has plagued me my whole life.
