Introduction
For many years I explored my thoughts and emotions, I reflected deeply upon spirituality and what that meant to me. I was keen on self-development yet so out of touch with my body that I did not even realise I was ignoring it. With Focusing I discovered my body's wisdom, and that changed everything.
What services do I offer?
Focusing training with my colleague Elizabeth Smith. We teach the BFA Certificate in Focusing Skills and hold themed Focusing days. Training takes place at our own homes in Stanmore and Harrow.
I teach the BFA Certificate in Focusing Skills online with Onlinevents.
Guided Focusing sessions
Counselling clients and supervisees are welcome to include Focusing within their sessions
My background in Focusing
Several years ago, a friend introduced me to Focusing. At the time I had no idea that it would become so important to me. I find Focusing enriching and very much in tune with my Person-centred counselling approach. Focusing helps me to reach deeper understandings and to listen to myself and others with empathy and acceptance.
I went on a Focusing retreat, Treasure Maps to the Soul with Barbara McGavin and Ann Weiser Cornell and then trained as a Certified Focusing Professional Trainer with Ann.
My project, ‘Bringing Focusing to a Counselling Supervision Group’ showed me that Focusing can increase counsellors' self-awareness and enhance their explorations in supervision. As a result I have developed my practice to include Focusing within supervision when requested.
